Happy 4th of July, 2012!

We hope everyone has a safe and fun Independence Day! To get your day started with a smile, here are some pictures from Sam’s 4th of July celebration (parade and class party) at school! (The good pics are courtesy of Lily’s Mom and Dad!)

Swim Lessons

Sam took Mommy and Me swim lessons the last two weeks (as in, last week and the week before. Yes, as usual, I’m lagging in posting). Since lessons were at our neighborhood pools, I decided to try to work in some exercise for me, too (something I struggle to do lately), by pushing Sam up […]

The Splash Day That Wasn’t

On Friday, Sam transitioned up to a new class, Pre-school 2 (I’m not sure what happened to Pre-School 1, but I think they split the class by age and numbers… mental note, ask about that…). Yesterday the teachers sent home the June newsletter with helpful information about the class, including Splash Day information. YAYAYAYAYAYAY for […]

Potty Time!

Sam has a little potty that he really enjoys playing with. He sits on it, tries to stand on it, puts his toys in it (poor toys), but he’s never really been all that interested in actually USING it. Last night when I took his diaper off before bath, I noticed it wasn’t quite as […]

2 Year Check-Up

Published by under Samuel Lewis,YAY things

Sam had his 2 year well-check today and he did great! He stood on the big boy scale for the first time, and he did great! He didn’t fuss at all when the nurse (Brandi, or, as Sam called her, Bandee) measured his head and listened to his heart and lungs. He laid down for […]

Sam’s Second Birthday

WHAT A PARTY! As you might have heard, someone special in my life turned two a week ago. Of course, we had to throw a party to celebrate such a momentous occasion. Lots of family and friends came and were nice enough to bring presents and join us for hotdogs and sliders and cake and […]

BIG Truck

In case you missed it, last Friday (April 27th) was Sam’s second birthday. Grandma and Grandpa came up from League City, and brought presents. I admit, I was a tiny bit nervous when Mom said their gift wasn’t among the list of things I suggested when they asked for ideas…AND that it was an idea […]

Big Red Firetruck

At Christmas, Aunt Lynne Cookie gave Sam a Big Red Firetruck. Now there is a story to this Big Red Firetruck. He absolutely loved it that day, but afterward, Sam’s brothers really got more enjoyment out of the truck (it shoots blue ping pong-like balls). Until recently. And now, I’ll share with you the lovely […]

Making a Baseball and Basketball

Cake, that is. With Sam’s second birthday just around the corner (AAAAAAACK!), I’ve started thinking about what to do for his birthday cake. I had about decided I’d do the busy-working-mom thing and order a cake from Kroger. But when I stopped by Sara’s house to drop off a Blues Clues cake pan (because she’s […]

Lily’s Birthday!

All week, Sam has been excited about “Happy Bir-day, Lily.” Even after Bear’s baseball game, as he decimated his post-game cupcake, he talked about “Sun-ay” and “Sing. Happy Bir-day, Lily.” And of course, “Have cupcakes, Sun-ay.” Imagine my disappointment Saturday morning when he woke up running fever. He was pretty pitiful all day. He wanted […]
