Today was the kind of good day that makes up for a whole bunch of crappy ones all at once. (This is not to say that I’ve had a bunch of crappy days in a row, quite the contrary, actually. But today made up for several crappy days in the past.) The sun was shining, the temperature was perfect. It was a little windy, but not as bad as it has been the last few days. I met one of my very best friends for lunch at a new Italian place in downtown Fort Worth, Saviano’s. We had a nice, leisurely lunch and got to catch up on all things kiddos, upcoming birthdays, and just life in general. And, we had REALLY good pizza.

Another post of mine went up on the Texas Health Moms blog today, and has received some really positive responses, which makes me feel GREAT. I know it’s going to start sounding canned or insincere (neither of which is true) but I really enjoy getting to write for them, and am still a little amazed that they think I’m a decent enough writer to put my words on their forum!

It was a good day at work, too. And, not to sound negative, but those have been a little scarce lately. Today was good. People were happy, we were mucho productive, and it became clear that a deadline I thought was going to blow right by might not be so far out of reach.

It was a great day on the ballfields. No, of course I didn’t play. Caleb’s team, the Texas Legacy, played tonight at 6pm (which also meant I got to leave work early to get Sammo so he and Daddy and I could go to the game together). Caleb had a great game – he had at least one RBI, and scored at least once (I’m sorry, for all the nitty-gritty details, you’ll have to ask Bryan. My non-sports mind can only hold so much sports information.) As I’ve already said, the weather was perfect, Sam was a happy baby-meaning we all enjoyed the game-and the boys won!

And finally, it was also a great day because I signed on with Mary Kay as an Independent Beauty Consultant today. This is something I’ve been thinking about doing for quite a while now. My fabulous friend, Jennie, who is an Independent Sales Director for Mary Kay has been recruiting me tirelessly for, ahem, a while now. Today, I joined! I’m very excited to see where this road will lead me. I love the products and have been a faithful customer for years now. On my most hectic days, my ability to go sans makeup (well, I typically try to get some mineral powder foundation on, so I don’t blind everyone with my shininess) is truly due to my Mary Kay skincare routine. And, while I don’t expect the business to go bananas for me or to make me independently wealthy, I think I’ll have a lot of fun doing it. Let’s face it, living in a house with 4 boys, ANY girl-time is fabulous! 🙂 (And, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that I’ll be getting my personal Mary Kay website up ASAP, so if you need anything, you’ll be able to order from the convenience of your home. Or, of course I’d love to chat in person about anything I could help you with! Okay, advert done. 🙂 )

So, I’ll say it again. TODAY. WAS. A. GOOD.
