Sam gets socks, shoes, and “gloves” on for baseball.<\/p><\/div>\n

Sam is at that wonderful age where you just want to follow him around with pen and paper – or, if you’re more with the times, a videocamera – to capture all the fun things he says. For your reading enjoyment, here are some recent giggle-inducing lines. (Some are repeats from FB – sorry)<\/p>\n

Sam (singing songs before bed): “W, X, Y and Z. Now I know my A-Me-C’s, next time won’t you sing with Mommeeeee.”<\/p>\n

Sam: Dere are TWO baseball players in dis house: Sam and Lily
\n(Sam swings the bat) Lily hit a home run!<\/p>\n

Sam: We go to Bear’s scwimmage today?
\nMe: Yes, after nap we’ll go to Bear’s scrimmage.
\nSam: Dey have a catcher there? And a Grampire?
\nMe (giggling): Yes, there will be someone playing catcher, but I don’t know if they’ll have an umpire, since it’s a scrimmage, not a real game.
\nSam: Dey WILL have a grampire there.<\/p>\n

Sam (showing me his blue monster truck): Dis Ike’s twuck. (Pointing to the passenger side) Dat’s Gidget right dere.<\/p>\n

Sam: Mommy, my baby is seeping, pease don’t step on him.
\nMe: Okay, I won’t step on him, but maybe he shouldn’t be sleeping in the middle of the kitchen floor?
\nSam: But he’s SEEPING. Can’t move him, Mommy.
\n(Have I mentioned he’s a genius?)<\/p>\n

Sam: Mommy? Is dis a ca-booster seat?
\nMe: Yes, yes it is.<\/p>\n

Bryan: What are you doing Sam? Are you cooking?
\nSam: Yes
\nBryan: What are you cooking?
\nSam (singing): Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog.<\/p>\n

Sam (grumpy): No! I’m Jingle the husky pup.
\nMe: Ok, Jingle the husky pup. Remember, Jingle ALWAYS does what he’s told.
\nSam: oh.
\nMe: I think that one backfired on you.<\/p>\n

Sam: Mommy, my anteaters are all better now.<\/p>\n

Sam has also really been into reading lately, especially at bedtime. We almost always read stories at bedtime, but lately he’s wanted to read them to me, instead of the other way around. Some of the books he knows the story well enough to tell me what’s happening on each page, but most of the time he just makes up stories to go along with the pictures. Last night, every page started with “Once Upon a time…” Such a fun age!<\/p>\n
