I had hoped to still be posting about Bulldog basketball through the weekend, but alas, it is not to be. The Bulldogs went into the playoffs as the #3 seed, and after a valiant effort, were, sadly, defeated Thursday night by the Flyers.

The boys played hard and kept the score within two points until right at the end. The refs did not help, but rather than let this post descend into a rant about terrible refs (and some questionable fans) in a 9U basketball game, I’d rather focus on the hustle and heart the boys played with.

The teams were well-matched and it was a fight from the beginning. These 9 year olds were vicious! Steals, jump balls, fouls, incredible shots by both teams. Sadly, it just wasn’t our day to win.

And with Bear’s basketball season is officially over, I’m perfectly content to listen to the happy sounds of big brother Bear teaching Sam some basketball basics.

Well, I promised a game post about the Bulldogs’ – Caleb’s team for those of you new to the blog – basketball playoffs.
