32 and Blue

Published by at 10:51 pm under Family Time

Wednesday was my birthday. I’m a fabulous 32 years old and life is pretty darn good most of the time. So why “32 and Blue,” you ask? No, I’m not referring to an emotional state (though I’d be lying like a rug if I said I haven’t had my share of baby blues!); I’m referring to the state of my teeth and tongue after eating my cookie monster cookie cake! It was a great birthday – nice and relaxing thanks to all the help from my two big boys and my number 1 main man. Bryan was able to work from home that day, and the boys were with us, so it was a fabulous day. I wasn’t allowed to do any dishes or laundry, and was basically catered to and treated like a queen for the whole day.

Caleb and I with blue tongues thanks to Cookie Monster cake!

AND, as a surprise from the Dear Hubby, I’m getting a spa day as PART of my present! So, now I have the tough decision of what type of massage, manicure, and pedicure I want at the Coldwater Creek Spa. I’m leaning toward the essential massage, essential manicure, and tropical pedicure… And yes, I said that’s just part of my birthday present – the other part is going to be a jogging stroller! We’re leaning toward a BOB , and are planning to go this weekend to “test drive” one. I’m finally starting to feel more “normal” in the post-birth healing process, and I hope to get back to running in the next week or so (the other big obstacle to getting back into exercise is finding the right, um, equipment to keep the girls in place, but that’s another post altogether).

I really want to get a BOB, but Chris is making me wait. I don’t think you can actually run with a baby until they’re 6 months old or so. Although that may only apply to when the baby is in the stroller versus in an infant carrier within the stroller – not sure, but you might want to check it out.

That’s what I thought, too – about 6 months, but what we’ve seen recently said that 2 months if they can hold their head steady, and you use one of the newborn inserts to help keep their heads stable. I only run on paved trails, so it shouldn’t be too bumpy. 🙂 But, I’ll ask at Sam’s 2 month appointment tomorrow just to check.
