Fishing, Turtles, and Komodo Dragons

No, I haven’t discovered a new love for reptiles, much to my boys’ chagrin. I do, however, love fish that my boys are so excited about catching that they come RUNNING from behind my parents’ house saying, “Dad! Dad! Come Quick! Bubba caught a FISH!” I also love turtles with papier mache shells who crawl [...]

Quick “Big-’uns” Update

Published by Julie under Caleb Lee,Daneman Boys,Jacob Earl

Since most of my more recent posts have been about our newest addition, I need to update y’all on my wonderful big boys, too! Right now the biggest one is shooting paper airplanes in the backyard, and the middle one is painting a birdhouse and playing with the dog (also in the backyard).

Soccer Champs!

Published by Julie under Daneman Boys,Family Time

Okay, this post is almost a week late, but cut me a break – there have been other things going on! (And no, no baby yet, so don’t ask.) Caleb has been playing indoor soccer since–well, since he was old enough to get on a team at age 3. He LOVES it. He’s fast as [...]

On Lightning Bugs

Published by Julie under Daneman Boys,Family Time

This weekend, a kindergarten insect project turned into a family project. Caleb’s assignment was to pick an insect, any insect he wanted, and build it using things we had in the house. Then he had to write out what he used for each insect part (head, thorax, abdomen, etc.), and he had to learn enough about [...]

Rangers Opening Day

Published by Julie under Daneman Boys,Family Time

Every year our company takes us to Rangers Opening Day at the Ballpark in Arlington. For the price of a ticket, we can also bring family or friends as guests. We even get company time – it’s nice to be paid to watch baseball.

Caleb is playing spring t-ball again this year (second season – next year we move up to coach-pitch!), and he decided that THIS season, he wanted to wear a cup, like the big boys do. So, he and Mom made a trip to Academy and picked up a pee-wee cup.

Snowball’s Chance

Published by Julie under Daneman Boys

So, yesterday was the first day of spring. I live in Texas – for a reason. In Texas, the first day of spring is typically just a formality, as usually by March 20, it’s been in the 70s and pleasant for weeks. Well, this year has been one for the record books in many ways. [...]

Best Boys

Published by Julie under Daneman Boys,Family Time

I. Have. The. Best. Boys. Ev-ar. No, really, I do. I know that you think I’m biased, and I’m sure I am, but I still have the best boys ever. They are funny, sweet, smart, caring, and just generally wonderful. How many 9 year olds do YOU know who won’t let their pregnant step-mom carry [...]

Open House

Published by Julie under Daneman Boys

Tonight was Open House at the boys’ school, Kay Granger Elementary. Both boys were quite excited to show us all they’ve been learning so far this year. Caleb, especially, couldn’t wait to show us how they’ve been learning about the planets. He had to tell Daddy all about it last night on the phone. And [...]

Weekend fun

Published by Julie under Daneman Boys,Other 2010 Babies

We’ve had several full weekends lately, and this one was no different – in fact, it started on Thursday evening. Jacob’s basketball team, the TIGERS, were the second seed in the 4th grade KYA basketball end of season tournament. With a strong 26-3 victory over the Horned Frogs, the Tigers advanced to the next round. [...]
